March 30, 2020 - Responding to the significant impact the COVID-19 public health crisis has had on its participating dentists and the state of Rhode Island as a whole, Delta Dental of Rhode Island has introduced emergency financial relief programs and announced a series of donations to relief funds and nonprofit organizations across the state.
Delta Dental of Rhode Island has implemented an emergency interest-free Advance Claims Payment Program (ACPP) that is now available to its participating dentists across Rhode Island. This program is designed to provide over $4 million of financial relief to dentists impacted by economic disruptions related to COVID-19.
“Like many business owners across the country, dentists in Rhode Island are doing their best to navigate an unprecedented situation. Delta Dental of Rhode Island is implementing steps to support dentists in our network through these uncertain times,” said Delta Dental of Rhode Island President and CEO Joseph R. Perroni.
Participating dentists can learn more about this program by reaching out directly to email@example.com
As the state of Rhode Island works to procure personal protective equipment (PPE) for its healthcare professionals across the state, many local dental practices can donate masks, protective eyewear, face shields and other supplies.
“Dental practices have been asked to help bolster the state’s PPE supply, and we want them to know that we support their commitment to the communities they serve,” Perroni said. “We can play our part by providing dentists an opportunity to be reimbursed for the cost of donated equipment going forward.”
Dentists interested in PPE donation reimbursement can drop off PPE at Delta Dental of Rhode Island’s office by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or (401) 752-6227 to make arrangements.
Thanks to a partnership between the Rhode Island Foundation and United Way, Rhode Island was one of the first states in the country to establish a philanthropic fund dedicated solely to supporting nonprofit organizations at the forefront of COVID-19 response. Delta Dental of Rhode Island was proud to be one of the initial funders of the COVID-19 Response Fund.
Delta Dental of Rhode Island has also made direct contributions to the Lifespan Emergency Preparedness Fund and to the Rhode Island Free Clinic, which, for decades, has provided critical healthcare services to the state’s most vulnerable uninsured adults and is continuing to do so through this crisis.
“Rhode Island is our home, and we are fully committed to doing everything we can to help the state work through this crisis,” Perroni said. “We are proud to support the COVID-19 Response Fund, the Lifespan Emergency Preparedness Fund and the Rhode Island Free Clinic, and we express our sincere gratitude to the nonprofit leaders, medical professionals, first responders and all other Rhode Islanders operating at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
